Jennifer A. Moore tried the only case in federal court involving the weedkiller, Roundup, proving that it caused her client’s non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma resulting in an $80 million verdict against Monsanto and leading to settlements exceeding $10 billion for thousands of injured victims. For over 20 years, Ms. Moore has fought to secure justice for her clients and held numerous wrongdoers accountable resulting in multi-million dollar trial verdicts and settlements.
She is the founder of her own law firm, Moore Law Group, PLLC, based in Louisville, Kentucky and represents individuals and families all over the country who have been injured as a result of harmful products, drugs, and medical devices, medical negligence, nursing home neglect and abuse, and automobile and truck wrecks.
In 2016, a Kentucky jury returned a verdict of $4,583,472.39 in favor of the young girl Ms. Moore represented against an insurance company who denied her catastrophic claim. She also served as co-lead trial counsel in a Kentucky case that resulted in a $3.2 million jury verdict for the estate of a man who died in a vehicle fire.
Ms. Moore has successfully led numerous class and complex litigation cases in both state and federal courts. Ms. Moore is an active member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), where she serves on the Board of Governors, National Finance Council, the Section and Litigation Group Leaders Council, and Litigation Group Leaders Council, and was elected to serve as co-chair of the Onglyza Litigation Group and co-chair of the Zantac Litigation Group. She is the past co-chair of the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System Litigation Group.
Ms. Moore received her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Transylvania University with a major in Political Science in 1995. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1998. Following her graduation from law school, Ms. Moore clerked for the Honorable Boyce F. Martin, Jr., Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Ms. Moore is licensed to practice law in both Kentucky and California and is a member of the Louisville, Kentucky, California, and American Bar Associations, Women Lawyers Association of Jefferson County, AAJ, and the Kentucky Justice Association (KJA). She also co-founded the Women Lawyers Caucus for KJA.
In addition to her law practice, Ms. Moore is the founder and immediate past board chair of Emerge Kentucky, a nonprofit focused on training women to run for elected office. To date, Emerge Kentucky has trained over 250 women and 42 currently serve in office. Ms. Moore also served as the Chair of the Kentucky Democratic Party from 2007 to 2009. She is currently on the boards of Emerge Kentucky (Founder and Chair Emeritus), AAJ, and KJA, and is a member of the Kentucky Supreme Court Rules Committee.
In recognition of her work, Kentucky Monthly named Ms. Moore one of “Top 25 Women Attorneys in Kentucky” and Business First named her one of the “Top 40 Under 40” to watch. Recently, her alma mater, the University of Kentucky College of Law recognized her as the 2020 recipient of the Professional Achievement Award for her work holding Monsanto Company accountable for its product, Roundup. The Women Lawyer’s Association of Jefferson County named her 2016 member of the year and the Kentucky Bar Association named her Kentucky’s Outstanding Young Lawyer. She has also received the Outstanding Young Professional Alumni Award from the University of Kentucky College of Law and her alma mater, Transylvania University, recognized her as the Outstanding Young Alumni. Today’s Woman magazine featured her in the September 2006 issue as one of eight Louisville “Way to Go Woman” honorees. That same month the cover story for the weekly Louisville magazine, Velocity, profiled her legal accomplishments. Recently, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. awarded her the Coretta Scott King Spirit of Ivy Award in recognition of her work for the betterment of the citizens and community and The Kentucky Gazette recognized Jennifer as one of the “2019 Notable Women in Kentucky Politics and Government.”
